A Home Finder View – It’s cheap down South
London Home Finder Nicholas Finn shares his inside knowledge on South East London.
Its official, South East London is cheap!
So often the SE postcodes are overlooked, Camberwell to Bermondsey, from Kennington to Dulwich, all of these areas often provide good access into Central London (Blackfriars, Victoria and London Bridge) and almost all are in Zone 2 or 3. As a Home Finder helping clients to find their ideal location to live / commute in London, these areas shouldn’t necessarily be overlooked.
Nunhead, East Dulwich and Herne Hill all offer phenomenal value for money, often half the price of anything north of the river or to the west. And for those first time buyers or investors, the likes of Bermondsey or Greenwich are undergoing a massive regeneration and facelift – Bermondsey Spais an area sandwiched between Shad Thames and Grange Road and a new 2000 home project looks underway; in Greenwich, the 2nd phase of Bolanachi isbeing sold and a new creative Quarter ‘Creekside’ is causing a stir with its open walkways, galleries, jazz venues, canal side bars and restaurants.
For younger families wanting older style properties, Garrington who are a UK leading independent Home Finder would suggest Hither Green, which has quick rail connections into Charing Cross and good access into Central London.
And for those seeking historic, attractive surroundings, green open spaces, stylish villas and townhouses there can be fewer nicer places than Dulwich Village and Blackheath.
Home Finder Nicholas truly understands the London property market. Having been born and bred there his experience of the property market gives him access to off market properties and extensive contacts.
