Towns and villages in West Sussex
West Sussex has many charming towns and villages. The town of Billinghurst and the surrounding villages are a favoured area to live, our clients often specify this particular patch.
Billinghurst has a wide range of shops, an established secondary school, The Weald, and a direct train service into London Victoria.
The village of Wisborough Green has a cricket green, primary school, church, pubs, a village store and Post Office, it is a quintessentially English village and has a very active community.

Petworth Property
Petworth is a small town in the South Downs, not far from Midhurst, it has a good selection of local shops and restaurants, Petworth is primarily famed for its antique dealers.
Period property in the area is popular, Petworth is one corner of The South Downs ‘Golden Triangle’ the other two points are Midhurst and Haslemere. Properties in the villages within this area such as Lodsworth and Lickfold are highly sought after.
Families are drawn to the area for the local schools, in Petworth, Seaford College is highly rated. Nearby Pulborough has a mainline station which offers regular services to Gatwick Airport and London Victoria.
Property in Midhurst
Located in the South Downs, the market town of Midhurst is a popular place to live, as are the villages in the surrounding area.
Midhurst offers a wide range of shops in its town centre, there are also several popular public houses. The town has good schools including Midhurst Rother College. Just outside of the town is Cowdray Park where you can find the Polo Club, Golf Club and Farm Shop.
Some residents drive to nearby Haslemere, which provides a main line station and a direct train into London Waterloo in under an hour.
Many choose to live in Midhurst or nearby villages such as Easebourne to enjoy the surrounding South Downs which are ideal for both walking and riding, whilst still being close to London and also having easy access to the coast.

Sussex Coastal Property
Chichester is the only city in West Sussex, it is a main hub for the surrounding towns and villages. The city centre offers a wide range of shops, well-known brands and long established independents, restaurants and wine bars. Well regarded and independent, The Prebendal School is in the centre of the city.
Chichester Harbour is a large natural harbour south west of the city centre located on the Solent and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is popular with sailing enthusiasts with several sailing clubs in the area at Dell Quay, Itchenor and Chichester Marina.
The Goodwood Estate, to the north of Chichester, provides a Golf and Country Club and world renowned horseracing and motoring events.
Trains from Chichester run regularly into London Victoria and take an hour and a half. There is also a direct train to Gatwick airport that takes an hour; driving takes a similar length of time.
In Chichester there are many period properties, the area of Summersdale and roads there, such as The Avenue, are sought after places to live. Houses located within the Pallants are desirable, as are properties near to Priory Park. Just outside of the city, villages surrounding Chichester, such as the harbour village of Bosham, are popular with our clients.
Nearby, East and West Wittering, often referred to as the Witterings, are favoured by our private clients. The area boasts beautiful beaches, highly rated schools, shops, boatyards and moorings.

Villages in East Sussex

Villages surrounding Lewes, such as Kingston and East Chiltington, are popular places to live benefitting from their proximity to the amenities in Lewes and also The South Downs National Park. Nearby, the villages of Plumpton and Cooksbridge both offer a direct train service into London in around an hour.
Further east within the South Downs are picturesque, historic villages such as Alfriston. Alfriston has a well-regarded pre-school, several independent shops, restaurants and pubs. The Cuckmere River runs through the outskirts of the village.

Property in Brighton
Brighton is a coastal city famed for its glamour, the Royal Pavilion, sandy beaches, the pier and marina – the city also has an array of shops.
Property in the Brighton and Hove area ranges from Grade I listed townhouses, such as those found in the Georgian estate of Brunswick Town, to seafront newly built apartments.
Brighton has many green spaces including Queen’s Park, which has tennis courts, a playground and cafe, and the South Downs National Park is to the north of Brighton and Hove.
The town of Hove is often included when referring to Brighton due to their proximity to one another, Hove is located immediately west of the larger city of Brighton. The direct train from Hove to London Victoria takes just over an hour.
Hove offers some exquisite property, such as those on Western Esplanade, which is a private road situated on the beach front close to Hove Lagoon.
The area offers some excellent schools, including primaries such as St Luke’s, and others including Roedean School, Brighton College, Hurstpierpoint College, Burgess Hill School for Girls and Steyning Grammar School. The city also has two universities, the University of Sussex and Brighton University.


East Sussex Property
Covering parts of East Sussex is the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many villages within the High Weald that are highly desirable places to live.
Our private clients looking in East Sussex often include the market town of Wadhurst in the places they’d like to live, and it’s easy to see why. The town has a traditional butchers and bakers, a café and several established pubs. Trains from Wadhurst to London Bridge take around an hour and there is a wide array of property types, from 15th century cottages to large Georgian mansions.
