Although known for its most affluent spots, there are many different types of property and places to live in Cheshire; some of the best villages and towns in Cheshire are widely unknown.
The small town of Nantwich is popular with families, very near to Crewe, it has good schools, a well preserved, pretty town centre and elegant period properties all surrounded by pretty countryside.
Another town that is becoming an increasingly popular place to live is Warrington, located between Liverpool and Manchester, just within the Cheshire boundary.
It is very well placed for commuters; Warrington boasts easy access to local airports and motorways as well as having two train stations.

Living in Knutsford
Knutsford, the location of Garrington’s local Cheshire office, is a market town situated between Manchester and Macclesfield.
Well-positioned, Knutsford offers residents a good balance, being quite remote and yet only an hour from Manchester with the M6 and M56 on the doorstep. Regular trains run to Liverpool and Chester from the Knutsford train station.
The town has well-established state-run schools such as Bexton Primary School, Knutsford Academy, and independent Yorston Lodge. This combined with the rural setting and strong community makes it greatly appealing to families moving to Cheshire.
Chester Buying Agent
The city of Chester has a rich history; founded originally as a Roman fort, evidence of which remains to this day with Chester being one of the best-preserved walled cities in the country.
Much of Chester features black and white, gothic-style buildings, with some true medieval buildings and others built during the Victorian period where Gothic Revival was prominent. The Rows, streets with two levels of shops, are popular with visitors.
Within the city’s walls are properties from many different eras including Georgian townhouses, Victorian terraces, and cottages alongside the more medieval style.
Chester is well connected by road and rail; the M53 motorway to Liverpool and the M56 to Manchester by car. Trains from Chester to Liverpool take 45 minutes and to Manchester take around an hour. Manchester and Liverpool airports are a 45-minute drive away.
Chester suburb, Hoole is a favoured area to live, with its wide range of independent shops, boutiques, restaurants, and a strong well-connected local community, only a short walk from Chester city centre.
Other suburbs that are popular with our clients looking in this area are Boughton, Huntington, and Mollington. Nearby properties in the villages of Mere and Ollerton are highly sought after.
