Cartmel, Cumbria
Cartmel is a historic village at a southern tip of the Lake District, whilst it is only moments away from the national park, the village is immediately surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Cartmel Valley.
Cartmel is well known for its racecourse; racing has been taking place here since the 12th century started by the monks who resided at Cartmel Priory.
Whilst the priory is still an attraction today Cartmel has many boutique shops and a Michelin star restaurant, L’Enclume, it is also well located for access to the M6 motorway.
A picturesque place to live whilst relatively well connected property in and around Cartmel is highly desirable.
Gayton, Merseyside
The village of Gayton is located between the towns of Heswall and Parkgate in Wirral.
Liverpool is around 10 miles away whilst the M53 and M56 motorways are both a short drive away for access to other parts of the North West region, making both Manchester and Liverpool within daily commuting distance.
The Wirral has an excellent selection of schools including Calday Grange whilst Chester is also not too far away for schools such as Kings & Queens and Abbey Gate College.
Many of the properties in and around Gayton benefit from views across the Dee Estuary and the surrounding countryside.
Property in Gayton is a mixture of older homes along with more contemporary residences that have been built over the years, many of which are detached and situated within their own grounds.
Residents of Gayton enjoy being within a very short distance of the amenities found in Heswell whilst living in a quieter village setting.
Hale, Greater Manchester
Hale is a village located south west of Manchester, a short distance from the town of Altrincham.
This area of the Greater Manchester district is well known for its luxury homes and is a popular place to live.
The village of Hale has an excellent selection of shops, bars and restaurants which are frequented by the local residents and those who live nearby.
There are also many good schools, both primary and secondary, within the vicinity making Hale an appealing place to live for families.
Nearby the villages of Hale Barnes and Bowdon are also highly desirable places to live within Greater Manchester.
Alderley Edge, Cheshire
Alderley Edge is one corner of Cheshire’s Golden Triangle, the other two tips being Wilmslow and Prestbury. Exclusive property within the area is particularly sought after.
The village high street has many boutique shops and places to eat and drink along with amenities to look after day to day needs.
One of the main appeals of the area is the excellent transport connections, the M6 and M56 motorways are within easy reach and Manchester Airport is only a short distance away for international travel.
For families, Alderley Edge and the surrounding area of Cheshire offers excellent schooling options, both state run and private including Alderley Edge School for Girls.
Mellor, Lancashire
The village of Mellor in Lancashire is situated on a high point in the area meaning many of the properties enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Very well connected by road, only a few minutes’ drive from the A59 road offering easy links to Liverpool and Manchester, Preston and the nearby popular town of Clitheroe.
There is a strong sense of community locally with several events taking place at Mellor village hall throughout the year and residents benefit from having use of the village’s outdoor tennis courts.
Mellor has a doctors surgery, small library, primary school and several public houses, there is also a local farm shop.
There are many desirable villages in this part of Lancashire including Whalley and Clitheroe, in other parts of Lancashire the seaside area of Lytham St Annes is a popular place to live.
